Streetlight ep - New (2024)
I created this EP in a single night, during late September. The idea was to challenge myself by making ambient music with just one synthesizer. There's something about the sounds of cities at night that has always fascinated me – the low hum of distant streetlights, the quiet buzz that fills the empty streets, and the way everything feels still yet alive at the same time.
The transition from late summer into autumn brings this unique atmosphere, with cool, dusky skies that feel both calming and a little haunting. I wanted to take all of those feelings and weave them into the sounds on this EP. It’s about capturing that mood of change, the quiet energy of a city winding down, and the beauty in the in-between moments. Hopefully, when you listen, you can feel a bit of that too.

The synthesizer used on this EP was purely the Arturia Microfreak and that was put straight through the EVENTIDE H9 effects pedal.  This was then fed into the ZOOM H6 recorder and was all performed live.  Some mastering was finished in Logic Pro with a tiny bit of VALHALLA MASSIVE REVERB and some compression.
